Melissa Samms (they/them) is from and of the north shore of the Katalisk in southwestern Ktaqmkuk, whose settler name is Codroy Valley. They joined a co-operative for the first time when they were 6 years old – with a Fat Cat account at the local Credit Union! More recently, Melissa has been volunteering with the Codroy Valley Area Development Association and the Community Garden Alliance in addition to their role with NLFC. Most days you can find them reading anything they can get their hands on, foraging, and drinking their body weight in tea!
