Julia Bloomquist: Bio
Julia Bloomquist (she/her) has been involved in community engagement, entrepreneurship, and career development in Newfoundland and Labrador for the past 20 years. She is the owner of Bloom Facilitation Services, where she offers meeting and workshop facilitation, with a strengths- based lens. Julia also facilitates regular team meetings for The Community Employment Collaboration, is a founding member of the CBS Community Garden Initiative, and serves as the Executive Director of the Conception Bay Area Chamber of Commerce.
Prior to role as a facilitator, Julia opened and ran The Sprout Restaurant (from 2005-2016) which became a vegetarian restaurant, community hub, art gallery, and business incubator. After selling The Sprout, she trained as a Career Development Practitioner and focused professionally on program facilitation for entrepreneurial youth in the community sector, as well as business development within the private sector.
Throughout her career, Julia has demonstrated a devotion to mentorship, business incubation, experiential learning, collaboration, and to creating a sense of genuine belonging. She is passionate about celebrating and growing the small business sector in her home region of Conception Bay, and to illustrate its integral relationship with the Career and Employment sector within the province.
